Delete Your Account
Queen City Volunteer Connect (QCVC) — qcvc.org
Effective Date: August 20, 2026
Overview
This page explains how to delete your Queen City Volunteer Connect (QCVC) account and exactly what happens to your data when you do.
You can delete your account yourself from inside the app at any time — you do not need to contact us or make a request and wait for a reply.
Delete your account from the app
The fastest way, and it takes effect immediately:
- Open the Queen City Volunteer Connect app and sign in.
- Tap the Home tab.
- Tap the person icon in the top right corner to open your profile.
- Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when asked. Your account is deleted straight away and the app returns to the signed-out screen.
This action is permanent and cannot be undone. If you later want to use QCVC again, you will need to sign up as a new user.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app — for example you no longer have the phone number you signed up with — email us and we will delete the account for you:
- Email support@qcvc.org from any address, with the subject “Delete my account”.
- Include the phone number used to sign up, and the student or organization name on the account, so we can identify it.
- We may contact you to confirm the request genuinely comes from the account holder before deleting anything.
- Requests are completed within 30 days, and usually within a few business days.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account and sign-in credentials (your phone number)
- Your name, city and state, and user role
- Your student profile — school name, grade level and graduation year — or your organization profile, including its contact details and address
- Your sign-ups and waitlist entries for volunteer opportunities
- Your membership of any private groups you joined with a code (the group itself belongs to the organization and is not deleted)
- The volunteer hours you submitted, including approved and pending hours
- Any verification letters generated for you, and the stored PDF files
- Your notification tokens, so the app can no longer send you notifications
Once this is done, your hours can no longer be verified through QCVC. If you need a letter of your approved hours, download it from the app before deleting your account.
What is kept, and for how long
A small amount of information may remain after deletion:
- Volunteer opportunity listings posted by an organization are not deleted when an individual administrator account is removed, because they belong to the organization rather than to one person.
- Anonymised records — where a deleted account was referenced by another user’s record (for example, which staff member approved an opportunity), that reference is cleared rather than the other user’s record being deleted. Nothing identifying you remains.
- Routine system backups may contain your data for up to 30 days after deletion, after which they expire and are overwritten. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.
- Records we are legally required to keep, if any apply, are retained only for as long as the law requires.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details of what we collect and why.
